Pim van Lommel, a Dutch cardiologist

Pim van Lommel, a cardiologist from the Netherlands, had a patient who died on his operating table, but was brought back by the hospital staff. Everyone was happy, except the patient! That started Dr van Lommel on a 13 year journey, gathering scientific data from a large group of Dutch hospitals, until he believed he had enough data to publish an article in the premier British peer-reviewed medical, the Lancet.
